Open Positions
POSTDOCS
We offer a position as postdoctoral researcher in the Feske lab at New York University (NYU) Grossman School of Medicine. Research in our lab is focused on the regulation of immune cell function and immunity to infections, tumors and autoimmunity by channels, transporters and ionic signaling pathways. Besides calcium channels (ORAI, STIM), we study a variety of novel ion channels and transporters that regulate immune metabolism, transcription and many other functions of T cells, B cells and macrophages. The lab applies a combination of methods including molecular and cell biology, various types of omics approaches, electrophysiology and animal models of immune function in health and disease.
Our research is published in leading journals including Nature, Immunity, Nature Immunology, Science Immunology, Cell Metabolism, Nature Communications, J Experimental Medicine, J Clinical Investigation, PNAS, New England Journal of Medicine etc.
Our lab provides a stimulating and scientifically rigorous environment. We are committed to the scientific growth and success of each postdoctoral trainee.
Available project(s):
- Characterization of the mechanisms by which novel ion channels and transporters regulate immune metabolism, signaling and gene expression in T cells, and how they control T and B cell mediated immune responses to infection and autoimmunity.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. with a background in immunology or physiology.
- Expertise in molecular and cell biology.
- Interested in learning about ion channels, transporters and ionic signaling.
- Desired: Experience in murine models of infection, tumors or autoimmunity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Self-motivation, and ability to work in a collaborative lab environment.
What we offer:
- Inclusive and supportive environment in the lab and at NYU.
- Commitment of the PI to the professional development and success of all trainees.
- Postdoctoral Program at NYU that supports career development and training. https://med.nyu.edu/research/postdoctoral-affairs/
- A vibrant immunology community at NYU and the unique Ion Channels & Transporters in Immunity (ICTI) program. https://ictiseminars.com/icti-program
- Starting salary (range $75–80,000) and subsidized housing at NYU
Interested applicants please send an EMAIL to stefan.feske@nyulangone.org that includes a RESUME and a COVER LETTER explaining relevant work experience and interest in this particular position.
